Meet Co-Author Barry Westmoreland

About

Barry Westmoreland, a native of North Mississippi, served as co-author for Hell’s Bend: A Moment from Eternity. Although a salesman by trade, his own life experiences inspired Barry to initiate this project.

In 1978, when he was sixteen years old, Barry’s life was dramatically impacted by his involvement in an automobile accident. Unable to escape the realization that he had narrowly missed Hell, he gave his life to Christ the next night.

Barry later attended the Blair School of Art in South Carolina, and he is also a graduate of Northeast Mississippi Community College, where he received a degree in automated manufacturing. During his final semester at Northeast, Barry was involved with and took an interest in video editing.

Involved in corporate sales for almost twenty years, Barry traveled the southeastern United States as a district sales manager in the automotive paint industry. He has also been a passionate artist for over 35 years, enjoying such hobbies as restoring classic cars and airbrushing. Over the years, he has won many awards for his creative work.

In 2007, Barry assisted with a presentation of the walk-through drama Judgement House. Seeing the effectiveness of that presentation instilled in him a desire to spread the message of the impact one choice can have on a life. But he wasn’t sure how to go about it.

A couple of years later, all of these elements—these life experiences—would be pieced together for the making of a Christian-fiction novel. This came about in 2009, when Barry was reconnected with a former acquaintance, Angie Camp. That encounter resulted in their collaboration on Hell’s Bend: A Moment from Eternity.

Barry was born in Holly Springs, Mississippi, and moved to Tupelo in 1997. Relocating in 2015, Barry and his wife Donna currently reside in South Alabama.
